Quick Lube History: 1957 – Who Was The First To Use “10 Minute Oil Change” ?

At this point in the industry everyone is familiar with the “10 Minute Oil Change” moniker but who was the first to use it?

According to newspaper.com’s archive the first time the phrase “10 Minute Oil Change” was recorded was in 1957 in the Great Bend Tribune, a small newspaper located in Great Bend Kansas. The service station “Don’s Standard Service” ran the add in an oil specific section.

Of course this was a full service station and not a quick lube, but it is still a part of “10 Minute Oil Change” History.
